Pedreiro Promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Michael Pedreiro has been promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Dairy Production Systems, according to CEO David Sumrall. With this promotion, Michael will assume full operational management responsibility under the direction of Sumrall. Michael had been in the position of Assistant Operating Office for the last year.
"I am pleased to make this announcement, and excited about what lies ahead," Sumrall said. "This is an important development in the genesis of our company as well as for me personally. I have spent my entire life in operations, and this decision is not one that I have taken lightly. After 30 years of working with people, I am convinced that Michael is the person to whom I am comfortable in 'handing over the reins' of day-to-day operational management," he said.
Pedreiro, a 2002 graduate of Cornell University, first met Sumrall during an internship in his senior year of college study. Upon his graduation, Pedreiro joined Sumrall's team at Aurora Dairy where he worked with Aurora's Colorado facility, becoming that location's general manager in February, 2003. In September, 2004 he was promoted to Assistant Operations Officer, a position he retained with the formation of Dairy Production Systems.
